Warner Bros International Television Production (WBITVP) has acquired format rights to a Canadian series that mixes police profiling with the dating genre.
Wanted comes from Canadian prodco Trio Orange and was previously sold by Sparks Network. A 14-episode series debuted on Canada’s V Tele earlier this month.
Described as a “light-hearted format,” each episode sees people use police profiling techniques such as composite sketches and psychological profiles to release ‘wanted’ notices through social media sites in order to find love.
“This unique twist leads to surprising and effective match-ups and will be attractive to international producers and audiences alike, so we believe that the format will travel well around the globe,” said WBITVP’s senior VP of creative, format development and sales Andrew Zein.
