Australia’s Network Ten has appointed a new executive general manager to oversee operations in Melbourne, Brisbane, Adelaide and Perth.
Russel Howcroft
Russel Howcroft will join the executive team from his current position of CEO at Young and Rubicam Brands in February, reporting to Ten CEO James Warburton.
He is known as a director at Melbourne Football Club and a panellist on ABC series The Gruen Transfer. The network hopes that Howcroft’s connections can revive its fortunes and ad revenues. Last month Ten’s chief programming officer David Mott resigned after 16 years with the broadcaster, paying the price for poor ratings.
