Nintendo will roll out a new video-streaming platform within its forthcoming Wii U console that will turn its new tablet-like controller into a full second-screen experience.
The Wii U will offer access to platforms such as Netflix, Hulu, Amazon Video and YouTube.
But the company is taking that one step further by launching Nintendo TVii, which will allow users to search through VoD services, recorded shows and live TV listings to find, watch and record content.
The new gamepad, which will have its own integrated screen, will become fully integrated second-screen experience, providing information and additional features, while also serving as the remote control for TVs, set-top boxes and DVRs and other home entertainment equipment.
