Fox International Channels Asia (FIC) has begun the search for a new general manager for its South East Asia team as incumbent Avinash Himatsinghani prepares to leave.
Himatsinghani has been senior VP and general manager of FIC’s South East Asia arm since October 2009, and has spent more than 11 years at the business.
However, he will now explore new opportunities when he leaves at the end of 2012.
Himatsinghani joined FIC in 2001, first as part of Star’s advertising sales team in Hong Kong before helping to set up National Geographic Channel’s ad sales business across Asia Pacific.
As senior VP and general manager, based in Singapore, he has helped to grow the business by establishing local teams in Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia and Thailand.
Zubin Gandevia, COO of FIC Asia Pacific, said Himatsinghani “helped us build each of our markets into a strong local business with teams on the ground, great distribution, ad sales partnerships and great affiliate relationships.”
FIC operates or distributes 32 channels in Asia, including Fox, Star and National Geographic, with more than 100 feeds in 14 territories.
