The distribution wing of Toronto indie Shaftesbury has picked up the Mighty Mighty Monsters animated specials from new Canadian prodco Bron Animation.

The 2x44′ animated HD specials are adapted from the kids books by Sean Patrick O’Reilly and follow a group of monstrous children who must try to fit in at a school for normal humans. The titles will debut at Mipcom and MipJunior.
The installments Halloween Havoc and New Fears Eve combine “high production values and tremendous humour,” said Shane Kinnear, senior VP of sales and marketing at Shaftesbury. A third special, Howl at the Moon, is set for 2013.
Bron Animation formed earlier this year with an eye to turning out CGI animated movies, specials and series.
