ABC Family in the US has renewed a host of scripted series including Baby Daddy but has passed on a second season of fashion drama Jane by Design.

Bunheads
The cable network has given second season order to Baby Daddy, a comedy about a bachelor raising his ex-girlfriend’s baby with the help of his friends, and drama Switched at Birth, about two families who discover their daughters were switched at birth.
Another comedy, Melissa & Joey, about a councillor who cares for her niece, will also return for a third run.
The Disney/ABC Television Group-owned channel has also given a back-order to Bunheads, a drama about a Las Vegas showgirl who marries a man and moves to his sleepy hometown where she starts work at her new mother-in-law’s dance school.
The original dramas will air this winter, with the comedies returning in spring 2013.
However, Jane by Design, about a girl who lands her dream fashion job after being mistaken for an adult, will not return after concluding its first season last month.
ABC Family has also commissioned a reunion special of its reality show Beverly Hills Nannies, which will air on September 4.
