US cable TV provider Cablevision has agreed a multi-year deal with NFL Network to carry its two channels, giving it access to live Thursday night games and Sunday match coverage.
The deal allows Cablevision to air the NFL Network and NFL RedZone channels, and leaves Time Warner Cable the only major US cable operator not to partner with the football league-run broadcaster.
NFL Network airs 24 hours a day, seven days a week and is home to 13 regular season primetime Thursday night games. NFL RedZone airs on Sundays and switches between all the Sunday afternoon games, giving live updates and highlights.
NFL Network will be available on channel 150 in both standard and high definition for subscribers to a number of Cablevision channel packages. NFL RedZone will be offered in SD and HD on channel 151 as part of its sports and entertainment package, which is part of its US$104 per month iO Gold package.
