Time Warner-backed social TV check-in service GetGlue has updated its service to focus on discoverability, with a new guide to help users find TV shows, movies and sports.
GetGlue HD, which is available to download as an iPad app from Apple’s App Store, will present users with a list of shows tailored to their tastes and interests.
The guide highlights latest episodes of programmes and also offers a calendar view to see what is coming up. It also shows which programmes and movies are available on services like iTunes, Netflix and Amazon.
GetGlue, which started as a check-in service that rewarded viewers with stickers, will still let people connect and chat with other users while watching TV shows, but will offer additional content such as images and show recaps through its app.
“If you’re a sports fans, you can see your favourite teams’ schedules, stats and live scores right in the guide. On weekends, the guide recommends new movies in theatres that match your taste,” the company said.
GetGlue HD is due to launch on the iPhone, Android devices, online and as a mobile site this autumn.
In addition, GetGlue announced that it had grown to a community of three million users, who have collectively contributed 500 million check-ins, likes and reviews to the service.
