AMC stuffs taxidermy show into schedule

US cablenet AMC has renewed reality series The Pitch for a second run and greenlit new shows about taxidermy and the people of Venice Beach, California.

The Pitch, produced by Studio Lambert, goes behind the scenes during the pitch process at leading advertising agencies. The first season premiered in April and a second 8x60′ run is scheduled for the second quarter of 2013.

The network is also moving ahead with an as-yet untitled taxidermy show from Go Go Luckey Entertainment. The 8x30′ series, to premiere in Q1 2013, will see taxidermists compete to create unique pieces of art to be judged at the end of each show.

Venice Beach Freakshow (working title) follows music producer Todd Ray and his family who own and operate a famous museum of oddities on the boardwalk at the California resort.

Ray’s production company Living Wonders and Endemol USA are producing the 8x30′ series, which will also premiere in Q1 next year.
