Crime-solving reggae rodent Rastamouse is jamming his way on to Canadian TV for the first time.

Rastamouse

British Columbia-based educational broadcaster Knowledge Network has acquired the toon from Canadian distributor DHX Media, as well as further episodes of animated kids’ series Martha Speaks.

DHX distributes both properties. Season four (10x13′) of Martha Speaks, made with Boston’s WGBH, will air on Knowledge, while the first two seasons (78x11′) of Rastamouse will air on preschool channel BBC Kids. Knowledge acquired BBC Kids early last year.

The Canadian broadcast deal for Rastamouse comes soon after DHX sold the toon to BBC Worldwide Channels for its feeds in Hispanic US, Latin America and Africa.

The toon airs in the UK on CBeebies and is produced by Three Stones Media, in association with Wales’s Dinamo Productions, London-based Little Roots and DHX.
