Nat Geo orders more Tuna

National Geographic in the US has ordered a second season of high-stakes fishing show Wicked Tuna for its main channel, and greenlit a series and special for Nat Geo Wild.

Wicked Tuna, from Craig Piligian’s Pilgrim Studios, premiered earlier this year, profiling New England fishermen who hope to make their fortune by catching bluefin tuna. A second season has now been approved to air in early 2013.

Meanwhile, Spoiled Rotten Pets (6x30′) has been ordered for Nat Geo Wild, with production starting this September through Picture This Television.

Nat Geo Wild is also to air a one-hour biopic about animal behaviourist Cesar Millan from Partisan Pictures. The show will chart the celebrity dog trainer’s rise from impoverished illegal immigrant to international television star.

Air dates for Spoiled Rotten Pets and Cesar Millan: Pack Leader have not yet been confirmed.
