South African broadcaster M-Net and East African pay-TV network Zuku have snapped up factual and lifestyle content from UK indie Passion Distribution.
M-Net has taken the first four seasons of Rupaul’s Drag Race (50x60′/1x90′), produced by World of Wonder, for its Vuzu channel.
The African Business Channel, meanwhile, has picked up a raft of home and property titles for its Home Channel in South Africa. UKTV’s What the Neighbours Did (10x60′) and the first two seasons of Oprah Winfrey Network’s Extreme Clutter (14x60′) are included in the package.
Further afield, Wananchi Programming – which operates the Zuku pay-TV platform in Kenya, Uganda and Tanzania – has acquired a number of series.
Zuku will take Scripps series Celebrity Motor Homes (4x30′), Ambush Cook (6x30′) and Breaking Down the Bars (7x60′) from Oprah Winfrey Network, and Reef Television’s My Favourite Garden (10x30′), among others.
