US, Canada onboard factual copro

US factual net Investigation Discovery and History Television in Canada have ordered a new series that will mix documentary and drama to present true stories about people persuaded to commit terrible acts.

Dangerous Persuasions (working title, 6x60′) will be produced by UK indie Raw TV and Entertainment One (eOne) Television as part of a UK-Canadian coproduction.

The series will document stories of men and women who have been coerced by criminals, false prophets or abusive family members into committing horrible acts, often destroying their lives in the process.

Dangerous Persuasions is exec produced by Louise Norman and Dimitri Doganis for Raw and Michael Kot for eOne.

Norman said the series “will bring to life some of the most extraordinary stories I have ever heard. We are particularly pleased to be making the series for two channels we have not produced for previously.”

Henry Schleiff, president of Investigation Discovery, added: “Combining gripping first-person tales with Raw’s inventive production techniques, Dangerous Persuasions is sure to leave viewers on the edge of their seats and wanting more.”

Raw’s credits include Gold Rush for Discovery Channel and Locked Up Abroad for National Geographic Channel. History Television will rebrand as History this fall, following a deal between parent Shaw Media and A+E Networks.
