Spanish production house Globomedia has set up an international development division in order to build more links with foreign producers.
The Imagina Group-owned prodco, one of the Spanish-speaking world’s biggest production hubs, has made its current director of film, Laura Fernández Espeso, head of the division. She will report to Globomedia’s president, Daniel Écija.
Espeso’s objectives will be to generate clients and potential projects with foreign partners in order to improve Globomedia’s international presence, while she maintains her position as director of film.
Two months ago, Globomedia partnered with Mexican TV giant Televisa to launch a new production house called Globovisa. The new venture will see Globomedia adapting Televisa’s programming catalogue into local programmes for international distribution. Globomedia is part-owner of Spanish channel La Sexta.
