Sky Italia is set to launch a new on-demand service that will let subscribers access a library of thousands of movies, TV series, documentaries, kids’ programmes and sport at no extra cost.
Sky On Demand content will be delivered via the web to My Sky HD set-top boxes, with the launch following the recent release of Sky’s iPhone-, tablet- and PC-based on-demand service, Sky Go.
The Italian satcaster will make Sky On Demand available from July 1 to HD customers that have subscribed for at least a year. Other HD customers will be able to access it from November 1. Sky Italia said its on-demand library will launch with about 1,200 titles and this will increase to more than 2,000 in the coming months.
