UK broadcaster Channel 4 (C4) has ordered a one-off documentary about a business in which each person is told exactly how much their colleagues earn.
Show Me the Money (1x60′) follows Pimlico Plumbers, London’s largest independent plumbing company, after its MD pins every employee’s salary on the office wall. The staff are then challenged to negotiate a way to make the distribution of their company’s wage bill, which stands at £8m (US$12.5m), fairer.
C4′s commissioning editor Sara Ramsden, who ordered the doc, said: “Some people think the last taboo is sex; in fact it is sharing with the person next to you just how much your salary is.”
Show Me Your Money is made by Watershed TV, part of Shed Media Group, and is executive produced by Mark Rubens.
