UK distributor ITV Studios Global Entertainment (ITVSGE) will handle international sales of US cablenet Sundance Channel’s first wholly owned scripted series.
ITVSGE has partnered with Sundance parent AMC Networks to secure distribution rights to Rectify (6x60′), about a man who is released from prison after 19 years on death row.
It was created and written by Ray McKinnon (The Accountant), who also exec produces alongside Mark Johnson and Melissa Bernstein for producer Gran Via (Breaking Bad).
The cast includes Aden Young (Killer Elite), Luke Kirby (Take This Waltz) and Abigail Spencer (Mad Men).
ITVSGE, which will handle all sales outside the US, will launch Rectify at Mipcom this year.
Sundance Channel this week partnered with the BBC on a two-part spy miniseries called Restless, and is also coproducing writer/director Jane Campion’s Top of the Lake.
