ProSieben adds US comedies

German network ProSieben has strengthened its portfolio of US sitcoms with two new series lined up for its 2012/13 schedule.

2 Broke Girls and Suburgatory will debut this fall alongside returning shows Two and a Half Men, How I Met Your Mother and The Big Bang Theory. The channel has also picked up extra episodes of New Girl.

Other US imports slated to air include Falling Skies, Grey’s Anatomy, Private Practice, swords and sandals drama Spartacus: Vengeance and the final season of Desperate Housewives.

Local entertainment shows will include the return of singing competition The Voice of Germany, Germany’s Next Top Model with Heidi Klum and Popstars.

Gameshows include 17 Meter, produced by Endemol Deutschland, and Beat the Host, from Raab TV and Brainpool TV.

A raft of domestic comedy series are also slated to air, including sketch show Switch Reloaded, TV Total and hidden-camera show Old Ass Bastards.

Sunday nights will continue to be the home of blockbuster movies, with Thor, Black Swan, The Social Network and Salt among the films lined up for the new season.
