UK distributor Mentorn International will handle international sales of a new three-part miniseries due to air on BBC2.
The Politician’s Husband (3x60′) stars David Tennant (Dr Who) and Emily Watson (Appropriate Adult) as husband and wife in a story about the changing balance of power in a political marriage and what happens when a wife becomes more successful than her husband.
The drama is written by Paula Milne (White Heat) and produced by Mentorn International’s Tinopolis stablemate Daybreak Pictures.
It is exec produced by David Aukin for Daybreak and Lucy Richer for the BBC. Hal Vogel produces and Simon Cellan Jones directs.
Shooting began earlier this month. The drama is a companion piece to The Politician’s Wife, shown on Channel 4 in 1995 and also written by Milne.
