US cablenet Animal Planet has become the latest channel to add an angling series to its schedule and will premiere Off the Hook: Extreme Catches at the end of next month.
Fishing has proved to be a popular topic for channels around the world, with Nat Geo premiering Wicked Tuna earlier this year to rival Discovery’s Deadliest Catch, while the UK’s Channel 5 enjoyed success with Extreme Fishing.
Off the Hook: Extreme Catches will premiere on Animal Planet on Sunday July 29 at 21.00. The show follows professional wrestler Eric Young around the US as he meets fishermen and hears their tips and stories about the one that got away.
The series is produced by Part 2 Pictures with Gregory Henry and David Shadrack Smith executive producing.
