Netflix appoints bizdev officer

NEWS BRIEF: Web video firm Netflix has upped its VP of business development Bill Holmes to the new role of chief business development officer.

Holmes joined Netflix in 2008 and has been in charge of the subscription video-on-demand service’s global partnerships with device makers and service providers, helping establish Netflix as an app for platforms like the Sony PS3, Nintendo Wii and Microsoft Xbox consoles, and set-top box services like Roku and Apple TV.
