UK multi-channel operator UKTV has ordered a factual series about two of the country’s best-loved comedians for its diginet Gold.
Bring Me Morecambe & Wise (5x60′) is being produced by All3Media-owned North One Television and will feature rare and never-broadcast sketches and routines from the comedy duo.
Eric Morecambe’s wife Joan joins other friends and family of the pair to look at their 43-year career. The series was greenlit by director of commissioning at UKTV Jane Rogerson. Ricky Kelehar is the executive producer for North One.
This is the latest original programme commission from UKTV, which is significantly increasing the money available for original programming.
