Germany’s Bavaria TV Production is shooting two new projects for broadcaster ZDF, including a drama based on the Inga Lindström romantic novels.
Four Women & Love (Vier Frauen & die Liebe, working title) is based on the book by Christiane Sadlo and Johanna Halt, and is the first in a new season of 90-minute films based on Sadlo’s books, written under the pen name of Lindström.
The story is about a career-focused woman in Sweden who finds that while others are starting relationships, she has only her job. Filming is currently taking place in Stockholm and Nyköping, although no broadcast date has been confirmed.
ZDF’s distribution arm ZDF Enterprises holds international rights to the series, which now has more than 40 episodes.
Bavaria is also producing two new episodes in the long-running White Blue Stories (Weißblaue Geschichten) series, also for ZDF. Der Duft der Liebe (The Scent of Love) is about a young florist who attracts the attention of one of her customers.
The second, Der Ersatz-Opa (The Substitute Grandpa), tells the story of an elderly doorman who works at a holiday hotel.
The two new episodes, both directed by Michael Steinke, are being filmed in Munich, Rosenheim and Chiemgau. A broadcast date has not yet been set. The White Blue Stories have been on air since 1984, with more than 50 episodes in the series so far.
