City Secrets (8x60′) will see Cumming take a walking tour around the British Isles to find out about its most important urban areas. Cumming, Emmy-nominated for his role in The Good Wife, will speak with famous names from the cities he visits along with local experts.

The series was commissioned by Celia Taylor, head of features and factual at Sky, and is executive produced by Dan Adamson from Twofour.

Atlantic has also commissioned Objective Productions and Kalel Productions to make Mother of Invention (8x60′), which will investigate patents for brilliant inventions that never came into being. The executive producers are Andrew Newman for Objective and Nick Parnes for Kalel.

Both programmes will air later this year. Before that, Sky will debut US drama Awake, starring Jason Isaacs, in the UK.

Isaacs’ character finds himself living simultaneously in two parallel worlds following a car crash. In one his wife is alive but his son is dead, in the other the situation is reversed.

The series launched on NBC last month and will be shown on Sky Atlantic thanks to a deal with 20th Century Fox TV International.
