Australian public broadcaster SBS will give one aspiring actor the chance to launch a movie career when it starts the search for a Bollywood star next month.
Reality show Bollywood Star (4x60′), produced by WTFN Entertainment and based on a format optioned from All3Media International, will give one Australian a role in the next film from Bollywood director Mahesh Bhatt.
The series will track hundreds of hopefuls until they are cut down to a final six, who will then travel to India to face Bhatt in a final showdown.
Along the way, they will be given extensive acting and dancing training until one person emerges as the next star of Bollywood. SBS will begin airing the series in May.
