Former Teletoon exec Caroline Tyre has moved to Entertainment One, where she will work to expand the reach of its acquisitions division across Canada and worldwide.
Tyre was director of programming at Teletoon Canada prior to joining eOne, where she handled acquisitions for the main English and French channels and their two digital siblings. Her title at eOne has yet to be determined.
eOne has also hired Tess Charman as its sales director for its international television wing, responsible for Central and Eastern Europe, the Middle East and Africa.
Charman’s previous posts include Warner Bros International Production, Outright Distribution and FremantleMedia. She will be based in London while Tyre remains in Toronto.
Both report to Prentiss Fraser senior VP of worldwide sales and acquisitions and are the latest in a series of changes in senior management at the North American producer-distributor.
Head of dramatic programming Noreen Halpern left at the end of last year, following VP Suzanne Berger, who left to set up her own production company called Rosetta Media.
Recent additions to the eOne team include Sally Caplan, in December named the company’s first MD of its international film division, while Margaret O’Brien was upped to president of the Canadian TV division a few days later.
C21 reported this week that eOne was gearing up for a change of status on the London stock exchange, signalling it’s setting its sights on growth after last year abandoning plans for a sale.
