UK-based prodco TwoFour has hired the director of its hit ob-doc series Educating Essex as its new head of documentaries.
David Clews starts in his new role immediately, reporting to TwoFour creative director Andrew Mackenzie, and will oversee the company’s documentary output for major UK and international broadcasters.
Clews has a good track-record of producing ob-docs. Prior to Educating Essex, he worked on Surviving Gazza, Boys From the Brown Stuff and The Family. Mackenzie said: “David’s one of the most talented and sought-after filmmakers in our industry.”
In December, former Channel 4 commissioner Tamara Abood was named as the new head of factual at TwoFour.
