The Sundance Channel has greenlit a new documentary series that follows the lives of four glamorous, wheelchair-bound women.
Push Girls (14x30′), which is currently in production, takes what the US network describes as an “uncensored glimpse at what it means to be sexy, ambitious and living with paralysis in Hollywood.”
Producer Gay Rosenthal is behind the series, which is due to debut on the network this April. His past credits include other unscripted factual shows, such as Ruby, about a woman who weighs 500 pounds, and Little People, Big World, about a family where both parents are 4 feet tall.
“Watching the Push Girls tackling life with spirit and confidence is not only inspiring but compelling. The show challenges perceptions about life in a wheelchair, giving the audience an honest, no-nonsense look into their world,” said Rosenthal.
