MIPCOM NEWS: UK prodco Zig Zag has once again teamed up with longterm coproduction partner Barcroft Media, for a new series that will focus on some of the world’s most extraordinary people.
Unbelievable Truth (13x60′) will bring some of the most unusual, shocking and intriguing stories from around the world to the small screen, according to the producers.
The stories featured will follow the tone of Zig Zag’s previous coproductions with Barcroft, including The Girl With Eight Limbs; Aged 8 & Wanting a Sex Change; and World’s Smallest Muscleman.
Though this new collaboration does not yet have a broadcaster attached, their joint productions have previously aired on Channel 4 and Channel 5 in the UK, National Geographic, Discovery and TLC.
Danny Fenton, Zig Zag CEO, said: “The documentaries we have made with our partners at Barcroft have already achieved great critical acclaim, won awards and been distributed worldwide.
“Unbelievable Truth is about casting the net far and wide to find a whole new range of incredible human stories that can be lightly formatted into a long-running series that will feed the huge international appetite for this type of content.”
