German distributor ZDF Enterprises has announced that Thomas Sewing, co-CEO of its digital production arm, has died aged 38.
Sewing lost his long battle with cancer last Tuesday leaving behind a wife and two children. He joined ZDF in 2004 working as head of video clip sales organisation ZDF.archive before being made managing partner of the newly formed ZDF Digital Medienproduktion in May last year. He was also CEO of the holding company F 12 Media.
Alexander Coridass, president and CEO of ZDF Enterprises, paid tribute to his colleague. He said: “With Thomas Sewing, we lose first and foremost a man with truly special personal and social qualities.
“His integrity, commitment, enthusiasm, courage, and open, friendly disposition won him an extraordinary amount of affection and respect. Further, and in spite of his youth, he was an outstanding business partner who tirelessly and successfully developed new projects and business segments, as well as new ways of improving customer relations, for the benefit of our company and our colleagues.
“His human and entrepreneurial example will remain with us as a source of inspiration.”
