Strix sets up Israeli office

Scandinavian production company Strix is establishing a presence in Israel and has appointed one of its long-serving producers to set up shop in the country.

The Modern Times Group-owned formats specialist has appointed Michael Rothschild, creative producer on shows including The Farm, Survivor and Paradise Hotel, to head the new office in Tel Aviv.

Rothschild, who prior to Strix was a producer and format development exec for the likes of Friday TV and Mastiff, will appoint a team to foster new formats out of the territory, where he has been spending a lot of time over the last few years.

“Michael is one of our top creative producers and Tel Aviv is the ideal place for Strix to open a fifth office. Israel is an exciting greenhouse market with the opportunity to develop and launch new ideas and formats that can make it internationally,” said Strix CEO Calle Jansson.

“I have had Israel as my home base for the past four years. The number of creative people and innovative ideas coming from this small country is remarkable. This is a very exciting time for me, and I look forward to the challenge of creating new formats for Strix,” said Rothschild.
