Annihilation director gets FX pilot

US cablenet FX has ordered a pilot from Ex Machina and Annihilation writer-director Alex Garland about Silicon Valley.

Devs is being written and directed by Garland, with producers DNA TV and Scott Rudin Productions also on board. FX Productions is producing.

The show follows a young computer engineer who investigates her San Francisco-based tech company after her partner goes missing.

DNA, Scott Rudin and Garland worked together on 2014 artificial-intelligence thriller film Ex Machina, with the latter agreeing an overall deal with FX last year. Garland’s latest movie, Annihilation, landed on Netflix around the world this week, having debuted in theatres in the US in February.
