AMC ups Cottrell for EMEA focus

AMC Networks International (AMCNI) UK has promoted Louise Cottrell to senior VP of affiliate sales with a focus on several territories.

Cottrell, who has been upped from VP of affiliate sales, will oversee and manage channel sales and channel development across Africa, the Middle East, Poland, Israel and Turkey and will continue reporting to Ed Palluth, executive VP of global distribution.

She will now work across the company’s entire portfolio of channels, including AMC, SundanceTV, CBS Reality, JimJam, Odisseia, CBS Action, CBS Europa, EVA, Outdoor Channel, Extreme Sports Channel, and associated services.

Prior to joining AMCNI UK, Cottrell spent seven years at The Travel Channel as head of affiliate sales and marketing, having started at the company upon its 1994 launch.

Since AMC Networks’ acquisition of Chello Media, which Cottrell joined in 2002, she has been actively rolling out the AMC and SundanceTV channel brands across the region alongside the rest of the portfolio, ensuring wider reach for AMC first-window series and other globally renowned, locally relevant programming.

Based in London, Cottrell has overseen launches of AMC across Africa, the Middle East, Poland and Israel and, more recently, the launch of SundanceTV in South Africa.

AMCNI in Central and Northern Europe recently promoted one of its execs to oversee affiliate sales in more than 30 territories across the region.
