AMC orders from Left/Right, High Noon

US cable network AMC has ordered three new unscripted series from US production companies owned by European groups Red Arrow Entertainment and ITV Studios.

Left/Right Productions, owned by Germany’s Red Arrow, is producing an as-yet untitled eight-hour wrestling series with Billy Corgan of the Smashing Pumpkins and Visionaries (6×30′) for AMC.

The wrestling project follows Corgan in his latest undertaking as creative director of Resistance Pro, a Chicago-based wrestling league. Executive producers are Corgan, Ken Druckerman, Banks Tarver and Ghen Maynard.

Visionaries (working title) is a documentary series that will follow the employees of Vision Scenery as they design and construct Hollywood sets, props and models for commercials, TV, music videos, films and other productions. Executive producers are Tarver, Druckerman, Andrew Bishop and David Lyons.

High Noon Productions, bought last year by ITV Studios, is making AMC’s All-Star Celebrity Bowling (8×30′), a talk/gameshow hybrid adapted from a Nerdist web series in which two teams of celebrities chat while playing 10 frames of bowling against each other. Executive producers are Chris Hardwick and Peter Levin of Nerdist and Jim Berger and Patrick Jager from High Noon.

AMC’s senior VP of unscripted programming Eliot Goldberg said the series “represent AMC’s continuing push to find truly original ideas and explore fascinating worlds.”
