AMC Networks hires Scripps exec

US-based AMC Networks has revamped the senior executive team at its international division by appointing one exec from Scripps Networks Interactive (SNI) and promoting two others.

Kevin Dickie

Kevin Dickie takes the newly created role of senior VP for channels group, UK, MEA and Poland at AMC Networks International (AMCNI), leading content and brand strategy for the region’s portfolio of 12 channels.

Dickie, who reports to Mike Moriarty, president for AMCNI CE and UK, will oversee programming, scheduling, production, marketing, creative services, communications and technical operations for the networks. They include AMC, SundanceTV and CBS Studios International joint-venture channels CBS Reality, CBS Drama, CBS Action, CBS Europa and Horror Channel.

Dickie, who starts at the end of this month and will be based in London, arrives from SNI, where he was senior VP of channels group for the UK and EMEA.

Levente Málnay

Prior to joining SNI in September 2015 he spent 15 years in various roles at Discovery Networks Asia-Pacific, including senior VP of content group.

Levente Málnay has been named senior VP, channels group, Central and Northern Europe, with an expanded remit to include management of the company’s portfolio in Northern Europe.

Elsewhere, Tanya Gugenheim becomes senior VP of mergers and acquisitions and business development, moving up from chief business development and new media officer. Both continue to report to Moriarty.

Last week AMCNI unveiled a raft of distribution deals that will see its channels extend their reach across Europe.
