AMC, Foxtel make Musicwood play

City Drive Group’s Landmarks Live in Concert featuring Foo Fighters

AMC in EMEA and Foxtel in Australia are among the broadcasters to have picked up music-related programming from UK-based distributor Scorpion TV.

One-off doc Musicwood (1×52′), produced by US-based Helpman Productions,  has been acquired by Russia Today and Sky in New Zealand, in addition to Foxtel and AMC.

The show chronicles the efforts of three of the world’s most famous guitar makers — Bob Taylor, Chris Martin and Dave Berryman — to guarantee the continued supply of the rare wood necessary for their products.

Meanwhile, Scorpion TV’s Arab Rap (1×60′), produced by ORBI XXI Production, has been acquired by UR in Sweden, Noga in Israel, TVP in Poland and Content Line in Spain. The one-off special explores Hip Hop culture in the Middle East.

Scorpion TV has also acquired rights to Landmarks Live in Concert (7×60′), produced by US- and Sweden-based City Drive Group.

The show features world famous bands performing in iconic venues, with highlights including a performance by Foo Fighters at the Acropolis in Athens.

Scorpion’s arrangement includes global rights excluding the US and marks its first deal with City Drive, which specialises in live-music specials, documentaries and event programming.
