AMC enters Giamatti’s Lodge

AMC in the US has greenlit a drama series written and created by author Jim Gavin that will be produced by Billions and Sideways star Paul Giamatti.

Lodge 49 (10×60′) follows a deadbeat but charming ex-surfer who joins a fraternal order hoping to reclaim the simple, happy lifestyle he lost when his father died.

“It is, at once, a show about a loveable loser, the idea that life can be magical if you look at it from the right angle, what it means to be on the fringe, and the importance of community,” said Joel Stillerman, president of original programming and development for AMC and SundanceTV.

The series will be produced by AMC Studios, while Peter Ocko and Dan Carey join Gavin and Giamatti as producers.
