AMC catches fire a third time

US cablenet AMC has extended Halt & Catch Fire into a third season, with the series creators coming onboard as showrunners.

The series is from the channel’s in-house production unit AMC Studios and follows three people whose innovations confront corporate behemoths during the computing boom of the early 1980s.

It was created by Chris Cantwell and Chris Rogers, who will showrun the third 10-part season. Jonathan Lisco, showrunner on the first two seasons, is now working on Animal Kingdom for TNT.

Halt & Catch Fire was greenlit in 2013 and was one of the network’s first scripted efforts to be developed in-house. It has struggled for ratings but airs internationally on AMC Global, with Entertainment One Television distributing.
