AMC picks up Shudder movies

AMC Networks has picked up a number of films for its thriller- and horror-skewing SVoD service Shudder.

Mayhem will be available from early 2018

Subscribers in the UK will be able to watch movies including Joe Lynch’s Mayhem, Chris Peckover’s thriller Better Watch Out and German film Cold Hell from Oscar-winning director Stefan Ruzowitzky.

Also on the slate is Sequence Break from actor-turned-director Graham Skipper, Colin Minihan’s It Stains the Sand Red and Still/Born, the debut film from director Brandon Christensen. All six films will be made available to stream from early 2018.

Aurelie de Troyer, Shudder’s VP of global acquisitions and coproductions, said the movies were “perfect” additions to Shudder’s “eclectic and ever-expanding slate of exclusive genre films.”

Earlier this month Shudder added German thriller The Valley to its service in the US, Canada, the UK and Ireland.
