Amazon VoD targets tweens

Thunderbirds-Are-Go!

Thunderbirds Are Go! joined FreeTime Unlimited recently

Amazon has stocked up on programming aimed at 9-12s for its child-friendly VoD service available on its tablet devices.

FreeTime Unlimited previously offered only titles aimed at kids aged 3-8, but now holds thousands of videos, educational apps, games and books for tweens following content partnerships with companies such as Disney, Nickelodeon and Mattel.

Newly added programming includes Legend of Korra, Gortimer Gibbons, Thunderbirds Are Go!, Just Add Magic, iCarly, Star Trek and Superman: The Animated Series.

Amazon has also added new titles for preschoolers and younger kids, including Dino Dan, Zoboomafoo, Thomas & Friends, Wishenpoof and Tumble Leaf.

The service costs US$2.99 for those with an Amazon Prime membership and US$4.99 per month for customers who are not yet members of the retail giant’s subscription service.

FreeTime Unlimited is available exclusively on Amazon’s Fire tablets, including Fire Kids Edition, as well as on Kindle e-readers.
