Amazon spreads Breathe globally

Indian drama Breathe will be available in three languages

Amazon will launch its latest original series from India, a trilingual psychological drama, simultaneously around the world later this month.

Eight-part series Breathe, directed by Mayank Sharma and produced by Vikram Malhotra, will launch exclusively on Amazon Prime Video worldwide on January 26.

Described as a gritty psychological drama, it follows a brilliant but unconventional officer of the Mumbai Crime Branch who links a group of seemingly unconnected deaths to an unlikely suspect.

Produced by Abundantia Entertainment, it stars Amit Sadh and R Madhaven in the lead roles and will be available to viewers in three languages: Hindi, Tamil and Telugu.

Amazon’s first original series in India, Inside Edge, was released in July 2017 and it is producing multiple other originals in the country.

The SVoD service last year also signed an international deal with Salman Khan Ventures to make it the exclusive streaming home of existing and future titles from the Indian actor.

Abundantia Entertainment was founded in 2013 by Vikram Malhotra, former chief operating officer of Viacom18 Motion Pictures.
