Crisis in Six Scenes follows a middle class family in the US during the political turmoil of the 1960s and will be available on Prime Video from September 30.

The series, which marks Allen’s small-screen debut, joins other new comedies coming to the retail giant’s SVoD service next month including comedian Tig Notaro’s One Mississippi and British series Fleabag, which is currently available in the UK via BBC3.

The third season of Transparent will also debut in September, while new episodes of Red Oaks and Mozart in the Jungle will be released in November and December, respectively.

The second season of The Man in the High Castle, which lost its showrunner Frank Spotnitz earlier this year, will arrive on December 16.

Amazon Studios boss Roy Price said during the company’s Television Critics Association presentation yesterday that the retail giant was increasing the number of territories it was producing content in.

These include the UK, Germany, India and Japan, where it is preparing 11 original series.

Amazon is also ramping up its global expansion strategy, with plans reportedly in place to launch in France, Italy and Spain. In Europe, Amazon Prime Video is available in the UK, Austria and Germany.
