Amazon plays Mozart, grows Red Oaks

Amazon success Mozart in the Jungle

Amazon success Mozart in the Jungle

Amazon has greenlit a fourth season of its drama Mozart in the Jungle and a third and final season of comedy series Red Oaks.

Both seasons are scheduled to premiere later this year on Prime Video in the US and UK, with additional territories getting the episodes sometime in the future, Amazon said.

This comes after the US-based streaming service was made available in more than 200 countries and territories across the globe at the end of last year.

Mozart in the Jungle stars Gael Garcia Bernal and is based on the memoir Mozart in the Jungle: Sex, Drugs & Classical Music by Blair Tindall.

Red Oaks, meanwhile, is set in the 1980s and explores the comic misadventures of the misfit staffers and clueless members of a country club in suburban New Jersey.

“Amazon Studios has been built by the risky, creative genius of shows like Mozart in the Jungle and Red Oaks,” said Joe Lewis, head of comedy and drama at Amazon Studios.
