Amazon picks up Flame, Janson factual

Scrap Kings follows the work of demolition experts

Amazon has acquired factual programming including demolition show Scrap Kings as part of an agreement with Flame Distribution and Janson Media.

Scrap Kings, from the UK’s Back2Back Productions, follows demolition teams as they smash their way through structures that have had their day.

Also in the package is Irish pubcaster RTÉ’s art series Designing Ireland from Newgrange Pictures, celebrating the best of Irish design.

Bike World was created for Bike Channel and is aimed at those who are passionate about motorbikes.

BBC crime series Neighbourhood Blues, made by Rawcut, follows the work of special neighbourhood policing teams in the UK.

Wildflame Productions’ Under The Sea: The Great Barrier Reef is fronted by adventurer Iolo Williams

Wildlife programme Under The Sea: The Great Barrier Reef, from Wildflame Productions, follows adventurer Iolo Williams as he lives out his dream of diving on the reef.

Other shows Amazon has picked up are Italian travel series Overland from Overland Network, adventure series The Hunters Club which showcases hunting and scenery in New Zealand, and long-running SBS food series Food Safari from Kismet Productions exploring cuisines across various cultures.

The Ghan, which follows the Australian passenger train on its 3,000km trip from Adelaide to Darwin, is also part of the 290-hour package.

All shows will be available to Amazon Prime members in the US, UK, Australia and India.

The shows are from London-based Flame Distribution’s catalogue, the deal was brokered by US digital specialist distributor Janson Media.
