Amazon offers taste of Tour de France

Amazon has greenlit a documentary series about the Tour de France and the food that keeps the cyclists competing.

Hannah Grant’s The Grand Tour Cookbook

The as-yet untitled show, inspired by chef Hannah Grant’s book The Grand Tour Cookbook and produced by Junto Entertainment, will offer unprecedented behind-the-scenes access to how meals are prepared.

The series will follow chef Grant as she and her crew source and prepare healthy, high-performance meals for nine riders during the 23-day endurance race, which covers 2,200 miles.

Conrad Riggs, head of unscripted at Amazon Originals, said the show would provide an “inside look at the organised chaos behind one of the world’s most prestigious and intense sporting events, in which Grant and her team thrive.”

Amazon’s unscripted slate has been growing over the past 12 months and already includes a series about the Le Mans endurance car race and a show on tennis star Novak Djokovic.
