Amazon, Mediapro score with Six Dreams

Amazon is partnering with Spanish channels operator and producer Mediapro and the country’s top football division La Liga for its first local original show.

Documentary series Six Dreams, which will debut this year on Amazon’s Prime Video streaming service, follows six stars of the division as they progress through the 2017/18 season.

Six Dreams will include players such as Atletico Madrid’s Saul Niguez and Athletic Bilbao’s Iñaki Williams showing the daily challenges they face.

Jay Marine, VP of Prime Video Europe, said he was pleased to be giving viewers “unique access to the daily lives of some of the men and women who make La Liga one of the greatest and most popular football leagues on the planet.”

Jaume Roures, a partner at Mediapro, said such a project “needed the collaboration” of the three partners.

“No one could tell it better and spread it further,” he said. “And it is immensely significant that in their first project in Spain, Amazon Prime Video has chosen La Liga and Mediapro as travel companions.”
