Amazon extends Patriot act

Amazon has greenlit a second season of political thriller Patriot for its Prime streaming service.

The show is written and directed by Steven Conrad, who exec produces alongside James Parriott, Glenn Ficarra, John Requa, Charles Gogolak and Gil Bellows. Amazon Studios produces.

It follows an intelligence officer who takes a job at a pipe manufacturer to provide a cover story for his activities in the Middle East.

Patriot debuted on Amazon less than two months ago, having received its first-season commission in 2015 amid a flurry of scripted orders.

Last week Amazon revealed it was bolstering its Indian originals slate by ordering a drama based on a true story about one of the country’s armies during World War Two.
