Amazing Film, Enderby go Beneath

A German production firm has teamed up with a US prodco to coproduce an English-language drama described as The X-Files meets Lost.

Beneath will consist of 10 episodes and will be produced by Munich-based The Amazing Film Company and LA-based Enderby Entertainment.

Developed by Enderby’s Rick Dugdale with writer Will Pascoe (Orphan Black), the series will be executive produced by Thomas Peter Friedl and Babylon Berlin producer Uwe Schott for The Amazing Film Company.

Dugdale, Pascoe and Daniel Petrie Jr. will produce on behalf of Enderby Entertainment. Production is set to begin this winter in Canada and Antarctica.

The storyline for the show is currently being kept under wraps, but the producers describe it as The X-Files meets Lost, set in Antarctica.

“We know more about Mars than we do about Antarctica. But we do know that, for more than 100 years, various superpower countries have sent top-secret expeditions to the eternal ice. For us, this is the perfect setting for a mind-blowing international conspiracy thriller series,” said Peter Friedl, CEO of The Amazing Film Company.

The Amazing Film Company will co-finance the series with Enderby. The two firms are also currently in post-production on a feature film based on the Intrigo thriller novels by author Hakan Nesser.
