All3Media shifts more Skins

MIPTV: All3Media International has notched up more sales for new episodes of its edgy UK teen drama Skins, made by subsidiary Company Pictures.

Season five (8×60′) of the drama, which began airing in the UK in January, has been picked up by Canada’s Allarco, Hungary’s Humor 1, France’s Canal+ and in Poland.

Sales have already been sealed with HBO, covering Latin America; Brazil’s Globosat; South Korea’s Tcast; Belgium’s VTM; Spanish regional pubcaster TV Catalyuna; Australia’s SBS and Foxtel; and New Zealand’s TV3.

All3Media has also made MTV’s North American adaptation of the show available for the first time, with sales now being negotiated. The US version is currently airing.

The show’s international popularity from Korea to Canada, was “quite something to think about when you are filming on the rainy streets of Bristol, England!” said Company Pictures’ John Griffin, exec producer of the series.

A sixth season of Skins UK (10×60′) has been commissioned by diginet E4.

UK superindie All3Media is currently considering a potential sale of its business as one of a number of strategic options.
