Eight-part financial thriller Blinded is based on a book by investigative journalist Carolina Neurath, and follows a journalist who uncovers unethical activities at a bank.

The coproduction marks All3Media’s first major investment in a Scandinavian-language drama and is also FLX’s (Bonus Family, Solsidan) first foray into thrillers.

Blinded is directed by Jens Jonsson (Easy Money 3) and written by FLX’s Jesper Harrie (The Bonus Family, Solsidan), alongside co-writers Maria Karlsson (Easy Money) and Jonas Bonnier (The Helicopter Heist. The project is backed by regional funding body Filmregion Stockholm – Mälardalen/Film Capital.

“A major part of our ongoing strategy is to expand the global breadth and scope of our drama portfolio, and that breadth includes looking tactically beyond English-language investments,” said All3Media International CEO Louise Pedersen.

“We love that we have a smart, intelligent young woman in the lead role and that it is based on a true story,” said Josefine Tengblad, head of drama at TV4 and C More. “Jens Jonsson is a very talented director and we look forward seeing this exciting story, FLX’s first thriller, come to life.”

Bonnier Broadcasting has been expanding its drama slate in recent years by co-funding projects across its linear and online services. Late last year, TV4 and C More began work on a new adaptation of Jan Guillou’s Hamilton novels, with ZDF joining the project as a coproducer.
